Folding iPhone's Creaseless Display Possibly in Use with New Samsung Panel
Samsung Display showcased a new foldable OLED panel at CES that doesn’t have a visible crease, which could be used in upcoming Apple devices such as the folding iPhone. The display unit was missing from Samsung Display’s CES showcase when The Verge team visited yesterday, but a demo was initially set up beside a Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable to provide a side-by-side comparison. Reports indicate that the new panel “has no visible seam” and “no noticeable curvature issues”, marking a significant improvement over existing foldable displays. This could be our first look at the panel used in the next generation of Samsung’s Galaxy foldables, potentially paving the way for similar technology in other devices like the folding iPhone.
