Folding Phone Patent Suit Dismissed Against Apple Due to Lack of Novelty
Apple’s iPhone Duo was not the first product to announce its foldable design this year, as multiple companies were working on similar concepts around the same time. Despite this, the company has been accused of copying rival designs. During an interview with TechRadar and Tom’s Guide, Apple CEO John Ternus acknowledged that leaks had revealed the company’s work on a foldable phone, but said that many details had been coincidentally matched by other companies. When asked about the similarity in design, John Ternus stated that “people knew through leaks that we were working on a foldable,” and expressed no concern over any potential copying.
