Google AI Assistant to Automate Ridesharing and Food Orders on Smartphones

Google’s Gemini AI is integrating task automation capabilities that enable users to have their rideshared or ordered food picked up and booked directly on their smartphones. With this new feature, users can instruct the assistant to initiate a ride request using Uber, or assemble a DoorDash order. The process starts with a user-provided prompt, which is then executed by Gemini in a virtual window on the device. Users have the option to intervene at any point or allow the automation to continue. The integration aims to further enhance the capabilities of Google’s AI assistant, blurring the lines between human intervention and automated decision-making.
