Google Expands Data Removal Tool
Google is expanding its tools for removing sensitive information and nonconsensual images from search results. Users can now add their driver’s license, passport, Social Security number, phone number, and address to Google’s “results about you” tool, in addition to the previously available options of phone numbers and addresses. Once added, users can request the removal of their data from search results, which is protected by “advanced encryption”. This expansion aims to provide users with more control over their online presence.
