Google Home Update Brings Live Camera Feed Descriptions
Google has announced several updates to its smart home platform Google Home, including a new feature called “Live Search” that allows users to ask their cameras questions about what they see in real-time. With this update, the AI-powered virtual assistant Gemini can describe live camera feeds, enabling users to ask questions like “Hey Google, is there a car in the driveway?” and receive an accurate response. The change also improves the quality and accuracy of answers to general questions and enhances playback of newly-released songs with updated models of the Gemini for Home language model. The update aims to address several long-standing issues with the platform, including annoyances and idiosyncrasies that have frustrated users.
