Google's Gemini Chatbot Integration Sparks Concerns Over User Privacy

Sen. Elizabeth Warren has expressed concerns that Google’s plans to integrate a checkout feature into its Gemini AI chatbot could allow for the exploitation of sensitive user data and manipulate consumers into spending more and paying higher prices. The Universal Commerce Protocol, which will enable users to buy products directly within Gemini, was developed in partnership with Shopify, Target, Walmart, Wayfair, and Etsy, but Warren wants more information about how this technology will be implemented to protect consumer privacy.
