Hands-Free Smart Lock with UWB Now Cheaper on Amazon
Aqara’s U400 smart lock is now discounted for the first time during the Big Spring Sale, with a price drop to $229.49 from its original $269.99 at Amazon. This model features Apple’s U1 ultra-wideband chip, allowing hands-free unlocking when you’re close enough and just need to open the door upon arrival. The U400 offers flexibility in terms of authentication, permitting users to unlock it with a Home Key, touchscreen keypad code, registered fingerprint, or traditional key. It operates as a Matter-over-Thread lock, compatible with various smart home ecosystems, provided a Thread border router is used to enable communication over Thread instead of Wi-Fi. Recent Apple TV models and the second-gen HomePod are examples of border routers available at varying prices. By using this configuration, devices can communicate more efficiently, which also helps conserve the doorbell’s battery life.
