Humanoid Robots Take on Household Chores with Mixed Success

At CES, several companies showcased humanoid robots capable of handling various household tasks, including food preparation, laundry loading, and vacuuming floors. LG introduced CLOiD, a robot designed to assist with daily chores, while SwitchBot’s Onero H1 demonstrated its ability to tackle everyday tasks. Meanwhile, Boston Dynamics, WIRobotics, Zeroth, and other companies unveiled even more advanced humanoids that blur the line between robotics and artificial intelligence. The recent advancements in robotics and AI have significantly improved robots’ capabilities, enabling them to perform various household tasks with varying degrees of success. Currently available robots, such as those designed for lawn mowing and floor vacuuming, demonstrate the potential for humanoid robots to excel in domestic chores. However, the task of operating a washing machine remains an untapped area, highlighting the ongoing quest for robots that can seamlessly integrate into our daily lives.
