Kalshi Fines MrBeast Editor and Politician for Insider Trading in $20,000 and Over $2,000 respectively
Kalshi, a prediction betting market, has issued its first fines for insider trading. A MrBeast editor, Artem Kaptur, was fined $20,000 after the platform’s surveillance systems detected anomalies in his trades on YouTube streaming markets. The fine stems from Kaptur’s successful predictions, which were statistically improbable and appeared to contradict publicly available information. Separately, Kalshi has also charged a California gubernatorial candidate with violating its insider trading rules. The video of the candidate was posted on X, where it appeared to show them making trades based on their own candidacy, raising suspicions about potential insider trading.
