Kalshi Users Protest Platform's Handling of Bet on Ayatollah Khamenei's Fate
The online betting platform Kalshi is facing a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to pay out as promised for wagers regarding when Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would leave or be removed from office. According to the complaint, Kalshi did not implement a “death carveout” until after Khamenei’s death in strikes on Iran last month. The company is reportedly working to expand its user base by attracting more women to the platform, as the number of female users has doubled over the past ten months.
