LG Unveils CLOiD Robot for Automated Home Chores
LG’s CLOiD robot, designed to assist with household tasks, made its debut at CES 2026, showcasing its capabilities in loading a washer or dryer. The robot, which features five-finger hands, was introduced on stage during LG’s keynote, where it demonstrated how it can assist with mundane chores. Following a demonstration of the bot’s capabilities, LG’s vice president of sales asked CLOiD to take care of a wet towel he was holding, prompting the robot to respond in a masculine-sounding voice. CLOiD’s primary goal is to help create a “zero labor home,” where humans are free from the burden of household tasks. While the robot’s ability to load washers and dryers is impressive, its slow pace may be a limitation in achieving this objective. Nevertheless, LG’s CLOiD represents a significant step towards integrating robots into our daily lives, enhancing our living experiences with ease.
