Little Snitch Brings Mac-Exclusive Network Monitoring to Linux Market
The popular macOS app Little Snitch has expanded its network-monitoring capabilities to Linux systems. A developer who tested the new feature on Ubuntu reported discovering 9 system processes making internet connections over a one-week period, whereas on macOS, the app had identified more than 100 such instances. While the functionality of viewing and disabling unwanted connections is similar across both platforms, Objective Development has clarified that the Linux version serves a different purpose, stating it is “not a security tool” like its macOS counterpart. The company aims to provide Linux users with a way to monitor their network activity, giving them insight into which applications may be accessing external resources without permission. With this addition, Little Snitch now becomes an attractive option for those seeking to maintain control over their system’s online behavior on Linux platforms.
