Live Nation Settles Antitrust Suit with DOJ
The Department of Justice has accepted a settlement agreement between Live Nation-Ticketmaster, clearing the way for eight participating states to join in. Eight other states are still undecided on whether they will participate in the settlement, pending further review. The federal case alleged that the company monopolized parts of the live events industry, driving up ticket prices and limiting venues’ options. Despite reports suggesting a lack of significant structural changes, no details about the terms of the deal have been made public.
