Live Nation to Challenge Antitrust Ruling

Live Nation is taking a strong stance against the recent antitrust ruling that found its merger with Ticketmaster violated U.S. law. In a blog post, the company’s leaders stated their intention to renew a motion asking the judge to dismiss the states’ claims, arguing that they failed to provide sufficient evidence to support their case. The company also plans to appeal a separate decision that allowed one of the states’ expert witnesses to testify in court, citing that this witness’s analysis may have influenced the jury’s $1.72 per ticket damages award. By doing so, Live Nation is vowing to continue its fight against what it views as an unjust verdict that threatens its business model and revenue streams.
