LONDON TO LIMIT GROK AI IMAGE EDITS TO PAID USERS IN BIDDING FOR REGULATOR ACTION
The UK government has sparked outrage among victims of AI-generated deepfakes by proposing to limit the editing capabilities of Grok AI, a platform used for creating manipulated images, to only paid users. The move comes as the government urges Ofcom, the communications regulator, to take strong action against X, the company behind Grok AI. No 10 has called on Ofcom to use all its powers, including an effective ban, against X in order to protect citizens from the misuse of this technology.
