Microsoft Agrees to Fund White House Ballroom in Record-Breaking $19 Million Donation
The Trump administration reached out to Microsoft as part of their efforts to secure donations for a newly proposed, privately funded ballroom within the White House, according to documents released by Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s office. In response to a letter questioning Big Tech’s involvement in the project, Microsoft counsel Karen Christian confirmed that the company was approached by a fundraiser around two months after President Trump announced plans for the East Wing redevelopment. The $19 million donation is considered one of the largest from any corporate entity to date for a presidential initiative.
