Microsoft Starts Reversing AI Coding Tool Push
Microsoft is canceling most of itsClaude Code licenses, a move that comes after the tool proved too popular among its own employees. As part of its initial effort to encourage non-technical workers to experiment with coding, Microsoft invited thousands of developers to use Anthropic’s AI coding tool daily over the past six months. However, internal sources indicate that Microsoft is now scaling back its access to Claude Code in favor of Copilot CLI, a more centralized and managed alternative.
