Microsoft's Control Panel Conundrum Takes Years to Resolve

Microsoft began its efforts to eliminate the Control Panel in 2012 with the release of Windows 8. Nearly a decade later, the company is still transitioning various Control Panel functions into the modern Settings app in Windows 11. According to March Rogers, partner director of design at Microsoft, the lengthy process stems from the need to ensure seamless integration with multiple network and printer devices, as well as drivers.
