Miniature Microsoft Surface Dev Box Puts Qualcomm in its Place with Arm-Based Chips
Microsoft has announced a miniature Surface PC, the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, which is powered by Nvidia’s new Arm-based RTX Spark chips and optimized for sustained workloads and local AI tasks. The device features an aluminum chassis that doubles as a heatsink, allowing it to maintain a 100-watt thermal envelope despite its compact size. This surpasses the thermal envelopes of Nvidia’s RTX Spark laptops, which range from 45 to 80 watts. The Surface RTX Spark Dev Box is designed specifically for developers and boasts features like 128GB of unified memory, making it an attractive option for professionals who require high-performance computing capabilities in a compact package.
