Surveillance footage captured the incident shortly before 7AM ET. Later that day, authorities confirmed the suspect was seen making threats outside OpenAI’s Mission Bay offices. He was taken into custody around 9AM ET. An OpenAI spokesperson expressed gratitude for swift police response and city support in keeping the community safe. The suspect’s identity has not been publicly disclosed.
