New Gemini AI App Brings Conversational Interface to Mac Desktop

Google is introducing a new Gemini app on Mac that enables seamless interaction with the AI assistant, allowing users to ask questions and access system information without navigating through multiple windows. To utilize this feature, users can activate a floating chat bubble using the Option + Space shortcut, where they can engage in conversation with Gemini and share their current window. Prior to sharing, users will be prompted to grant Gemini permission to access their system’s information. This new app resembles Apple’s Spotlight feature, but with additional capabilities that enable more practical actions on the device.
