New Nintendo Switch 2 Revisions Coming with Replaceable Batteries
Nintendo is set to release revised versions of its Switch 2 console in Europe that will feature removable batteries, following regulations from the European Union requiring devices to be easily repairable and sustainable. Starting in February 2027, the EU’s new rules mandate that portable electronics must allow users to swap out their own batteries, a change aimed at reducing electronic waste. In a move towards greater sustainability and consumer convenience, Nintendo’s revamped console designs will enable consumers to replace worn-out or dead batteries with ease, eliminating the need for professional repair services.
