No FSD for Millions of Tesla Owners Due to Outdated Hardware

Tesla vehicles with Hardware 3 computer won’t receive unsupervised Full Self-Driving capabilities due to its limitations, according to Elon Musk. The affected models account for approximately 4 million of the company’s total fleet, meaning that a significant portion of Tesla owners who purchased these cars without knowing about the hardware limitation are now locked out of the feature. This admission contradicts Musk’s previous claims and promises made by Tesla regarding the widespread availability of unsupervised FSD. Musk expressed his wish for the situation to be different but acknowledged the inherent capabilities of Hardware 3, which he stated do not enable unsupervised Full Self-Driving. He suggested that owners who want to use this feature will have to upgrade their car or its hardware.
