Nuki Integrates Apple Home Key Capabilities into Retrofit Smart Lock

The Nuki Keypad 2 NFC has launched, bringing tap-to-unlock functionality via Apple’s Home Key and Samsung’s Digital Home Key to the company’s retrofit smart lock. This new keypad allows users to unlock their door by tapping their phone or smartwatch, similar to contactless payments. The integration is made possible through Aliro, a new smart lock standard supported by major platforms and handset manufacturers. By adopting an open standard, Aliro enables secure unlocking without proprietary apps, with the digital key stored in the user’s phone wallet.
