OpenAI Cuts Ties with Former AGI Chief Amid Leadership Shift
Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s CEO of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) Deployment, is taking a leave of absence due to a neuroimmune condition and will step away from the company for several weeks. In her place, Greg Brockman, current president, will oversee product development, including the super app initiative. Key business officials such as Jason Kwon, CSO; Sarah Friar, CFO; and Denise Dresser, CRO, will assume leadership roles within their respective departments. This internal shake-up comes as OpenAI continues to navigate its growing influence in the AI sector. Following Simo’s departure, the company is left to reassess its strategic direction and address potential concerns regarding the development of AGI technology.
