PS4 and Xbox One Support for Call of Duty: Warzone to End Later This Year
Call of Duty: Warzone will soon no longer be supported on PS4 and Xbox One consoles, marking a significant shift in Activision’s support strategy for the popular battle royale game. As part of this change, players who want to continue playing Warzone will need to upgrade their console to a PS5 or an Xbox Series S or X model. The transition process is already underway, with Activision removing Call of Duty: Warzone from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One storefronts on June 4th. This means that players will no longer be able to download the game on these consoles, effectively severing access to its online features and in-game store. In a few weeks, the in-game store for Warzone will also be removed from PS4 and Xbox One consoles, further solidifying the end of support for these outdated systems. This decision is likely aimed at optimizing the player experience for newer hardware, which has more powerful processors and better graphics capabilities. Activision’s decision to abandon support for older consoles in favor of newer models aligns with industry trends that prioritize high-performance gaming on the latest hardware.
