PS4 and Xbox One Support to Fade Away in Call of Duty: Warzone Later This Year
Activision is set to drop support for its popular battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles later this year, prompting players to upgrade to newer hardware. Season 6 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will conclude in the coming months, after which players who still own PS5 or Xbox Series X/S consoles can continue playing Warzone. However, those without access to these newer systems will be left with limited options. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One storefronts for Warzone are scheduled to be removed on June 4th, while the in-game store on these platforms is set to disappear on June 25th. This marks a significant milestone in the game’s transition to more modern hardware, following a recent shift away from support for older consoles. The discontinuation of PS4 and Xbox One support in Warzone may leave some players feeling left behind, as those without access to newer systems are forced to upgrade or abandon the game altogether.
