Seattle Activists Turn the Tables on Corporate Giants
Activists who work in the cafeteria of Meta’s headquarters have taken a bold step to combat immigration enforcement actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) - an action they say was not taken by any top-level executive. According to multiple sources, the workers formed a union, secured backing from community organizations, and even launched their own fundraising campaign, which attracted donations from over 5,000 people. The collective effort led to ICE agents being forced to withdraw from the campus after nearly two years of regular visits. In contrast, executives have largely remained silent on the issue, with some critics accusing them of using their platforms to further divide communities rather than address pressing social concerns.
