Smart Homes Get a Vibe-Coded Makeover with Claude
I’m not a coder, but seeing people’s vibe-coded smart home projects flooding my social feeds this month sparked curiosity. People were using Claude Code to build tools that would normally take weeks to create by hand, blurring the line between “I wish this existed” and “I made it.” I too wanted to try out this technology for myself. My desire was simple: a decent smart home dashboard. As someone who’s reviewed smart home devices for over a decade, I’ve spent years switching and swapping lights, thermostats, and security cameras. The constant updates and incompatibilities with different systems can be frustrating. Claude, however, allows users to create custom dashboards that integrate with their existing smart home setup, eliminating the need for complicated coding knowledge. By utilizing Claude’s visual interface, I was able to build a smart home dashboard without having to write any code. The process involved dragging and dropping various components onto my dashboard, adjusting parameters as needed, and voila – a customized control center that now effortlessly controls all of my smart devices. One of the most impressive aspects of using Claude is its ability to learn from the user’s habits and preferences over time. It can identify patterns in usage and adapt the dashboard accordingly, providing users with an even more personalized experience. With this level of customization, it’s no wonder that people are now using AI-powered tools to build their smart home systems. While I’m still in the process of exploring all the possibilities Claude has to offer, I can confidently say that this technology is a game-changer for those looking to simplify their smart home setup without sacrificing functionality.
