Snapdragon C Platform to Bring $300 Windows Laptops to Market
Qualcomm has announced its latest budget laptop platform, Snapdragon C, designed to keep entry-level laptops affordable despite rising PC prices and a shortage of RAM. With the introduction of this new platform, the company aims to offer Windows-powered laptops starting at just $300 this year. The move comes after Qualcomm previously set out its vision for a more affordable budget machine with prices ranging from $1,000 to $700, before eventually settling on lower-cost options around $600. By introducing Snapdragon C, Qualcomm is positioning itself as a key player in the rapidly evolving laptop market, where consumers are increasingly seeking value-for-money options. The platform promises responsive systems and lag-free performance, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious buyers. Mandar Deshpande, senior director of product management at Qualcomm, emphasized that Snapdragon C represents a significant milestone for the company’s efforts to make high-quality laptops more accessible to consumers. “You get the benefits of a responsive system, lag-free performance, browsing, video editing, and more,” he said. “We are raising the bar for what budget-conscious laptop buyers should expect.”
