Spry Fox Returns to Independence After Netflix Acquisition
After a brief stint under Netflix’s umbrella, cozy game developer Spry Fox has regained its independence by acquiring itself. In 2022, Netflix acquired Spry Fox for an undisclosed amount, allowing the studio to focus on creating experiences without worrying about monetization. However, according to cofounder David Edery, the partnership didn’t quite work out as expected. With a decade of experience and multiple successful mobile games under its belt, including Triple Town and Alphabear, Spry Fox has now opted for self-ownership to maintain creative control and pursue projects that align with its vision.
