Surface Hub Production to Cease as Microsoft Abandons Giant Touchscreen Displays
Microsoft is ending production of its Surface Hub 3 collaborative office display and canceling plans for a Surface Hub 4, according to reports. This move marks a significant shift away from the company’s large touchscreen displays that were first introduced in 2015 as part of Windows 10. The original Surface Hub models came in two sizes, ranging from 50 inches to 85 inches, with prices starting at $8,000 and reaching as high as $20,000. Despite being a significant investment for many businesses, the technology has failed to gain widespread adoption. As Microsoft continues to evolve its product lineup, it appears that the Surface Hub line is no longer a priority. The decision comes as the company refocuses on more established areas of collaboration and productivity tools.
