Tesla Announces Production of Cybercab Amid Cautionary Tone from Elon Musk

Despite officially starting production at its Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, Elon Musk is expressing unease about the rollout of Tesla’s robotaxi, known as the Cybercab. The company had initially produced a few units in February but only started continuous production this month. The announcement was made on X, with a video showcasing a steering wheel-less Cybercab driving out of the factory, accompanied by the caption “Purpose built for autonomy”. However, Musk’s cautious tone has raised questions about the future of Tesla’s robotaxi plans, which have been slower to materialize than expected.
