Tesla Issues Massive Recall for Thousands of Model Ys Over Missing Sticker
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for 14,575 Model Y vehicles due to an issue that cannot be resolved with a software update: a missing weight certification sticker on the vehicle’s door. A defect during production at Tesla’s Fremont factory resulted in some Model Ys being shipped without this crucial label, which typically includes information about the vehicle’s maximum safe loaded weight, tire size, and manufacture date. The affected vehicles were produced between November 17th, 2024 and April 21st, 2026. Tesla has not yet specified when the recall will begin or what steps drivers can take to get their vehicles repaired.
