UpScrolled, a social media platform, has seen a surge in downloads following TikTok’s takeover of the US market. With its user base growing rapidly, the app is struggling to maintain its performance due to an overwhelming influx of new traffic. In a statement on Bluesky, UpScrolled acknowledged that it was facing technical difficulties, citing server overload as the cause. Despite this, data suggests that the platform has seen significant growth since TikTok’s takeover, with 41,000 downloads accumulated between Thursday and Saturday alone. This marks a substantial increase from its previous daily average of 460 downloads, which was nearly 29 times lower. As UpScrolled works to resolve the technical issues, it remains to be seen how this trend will continue and whether the platform can sustain long-term growth in the face of increased competition.
