Trump Arcade Game Appears in DC, Turns Out It's Actually a Smart Satire
A trio of retro-style video game cabinets featuring Donald Trump and other government officials’ faces appeared at the DC War Memorial, sparking initial confusion as to whether it was a prank or a genuine art installation. However, upon closer inspection, Operation Epic Furious: Strait to Hell revealed itself to be a cleverly crafted commentary on classic RPGs, incorporating elements of satire that critique Trump’s presidency and policies while also paying homage to the genre. The game’s developer, DC-based art collective The Secret Handshake, has woven a complex narrative that both mocks and celebrates the tropes of traditional RPGs, making for an unexpectedly engaging gaming experience.
