Trump Phone Still Misleading Consumers Over 'Made in America' Claim
We’ve reached out to Trump Mobile, as we have before, to ask about the whereabouts of the Trump phone. Its supposed launch continues, but its website still promotes a key aspect of its sales pitch: that the T1 phone is “American-made”. The company had previously walked back this claim after it was first announced last June, saying only that the phone would be “assembled” in the US. However, one page on the Trump Mobile website still explicitly states that the phone is “made in America”, likely violating Federal Trade Commission rules. The discrepancy is a sign of the ongoing confusion surrounding the Trump phone’s manufacturing process, which has been a point of contention for critics and consumers alike. Despite repeated promises to provide clarity on this issue, Trump Mobile seems to be struggling to come clean about where its phones are actually made.
