UK Cracks Down on Deepfake Nudes Amid Rise of Grok AI
The UK government is set to bring its laws against non-consensual intimate images into effect, with creating deepfake nudes that were popularized by the AI chatbot Grok now classed as a criminal offense. The Data Act, passed last year, has already made it an offence to create or request such images without consent. However, new legislation will make this a priority offence under the Online Safety Act, ensuring perpetrators face tougher penalties and increased accountability for their actions.
