UK PlayStation Owners Must Comply with Age Verification Requirements by June 2026
Sony is now informing PS4 and PS5 owners in the UK and Ireland that they must verify their age to access certain features on their consoles, starting from today. The Online Safety Act’s provisions are being implemented, requiring users to confirm their age for participation in voice chats, messaging, parties, or other third-party communication services. The deadline for compliance is set at June 2026, with unverified users restricted to playing games but unable to utilize some key features like broadcasting gameplay on YouTube or Twitch. To avoid any inconvenience, Sony has issued a support note reminding users of the importance of age verification and outlining the necessary steps to complete this process.
