US Arrests Soldier Who Allegedly Made $400K from Maduro Bets
The US Attorney for the Southern District of New York has announced that Gannon Ken Van Dyke, a soldier, is in custody on multiple charges related to making over $400,000 through suspicious Polymarket bets. According to an indictment, Van Dyke was involved in planning and executing “Operation Absolute Resolve” to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and in the days leading up to the operation made transactions purchasing shares worth $33,934. The charges include using confidential government information for personal gain, and Van Dyke’s alleged actions have raised concerns about the integrity of the US operation to apprehend the president.
