US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Approves Groundbreaking Advanced Reactor Project

TerraPower, a nuclear energy startup co-founded by Bill Gates, has received approval to build a next-generation reactor in Wyoming, marking the first commercial-scale advanced nuclear power plant to receive federal permit. Construction on the facility is expected to be completed by 2030 and will represent the first commercial reactor constructed in the US in almost a decade. The project aims to augment electrical grids strained by AI data centers.
