AFCON Quarterfinals Schedule Announced
The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 quarterfinal matches have been confirmed, with eight top African nations advancing to the next round. The defending champions, Ivory Coast, will face Egypt in one of the highly anticipated matchups.
Two matches will be played on Friday and Saturday: Mali vs Senegal at 5pm GMT at Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier, and Cameroon vs Morocco at 8pm GMT at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. The other two matches will take place on the same days at Marrakesh Stadium in Marrakesh and Adrar Stadium in Agadir.
The teams have been closely matched throughout the tournament, with Nigeria emerging as a strong contender after impressive performances. Algeria has also impressed by winning all their matches so far, while Egypt has lived up to its reputation of being a top-four African side.
Top scorers in the round of 16 include Brahim Diaz of Morocco, who leads the charts with four goals from as many games, followed closely by Ademola Lookman and Lassine Sinayoko of Nigeria and Mali, respectively.
