Arsenal Seeks to Re-Establish Lead Over Manchester City Ahead of Fulham Match
Arsenal will have the opportunity to move six points clear of Premier League title rivals Manchester City if they secure a victory over Fulham on Saturday. The match, scheduled for 5:30pm GMT at Emirates Stadium in London, would give Arsenal a significant advantage in the title race.
Manchester City, who trail Arsenal by six points, will have two games in hand before their next league match against Everton on Monday. However, with no margin for error, City’s resolve will be tested if they fail to capitalize on this opportunity.
Arsenal has been on a four-match winning streak in domestic competitions, including a 1-0 home win over Newcastle United last weekend. The team is still favored to win the title, according to data analysts Opta.
Fulham, currently sitting in 10th place with four games remaining, will look to exploit any Arsenal fatigue after their Champions League semifinal draw on Wednesday. Despite being away at Emirates Stadium for the first time this season, Fulham has a historical advantage over Arsenal, having never won a match against them in all competitions.
The match between Arsenal and Fulham will be the 67th encounter between the two teams, with Arsenal winning 44 of the previous meetings. The teams last met on October 18, when Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the game for Arsenal in a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage.
Manchester City’s record against Everton is equally impressive, having lost none of their last 18 matches and won 15 of them. A City victory over Everton would then give them the chance to increase pressure on Arsenal as they prepare for their next league match against Brentford.
