Lebanon Reports 3,042 Deaths Since March 2 Amid Ongoing Conflict

The Lebanese Health Ministry has confirmed that the country’s death toll since March 2 has reached 3,042. According to the ministry, at least 22 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Lebanon over the past 24 hours.

The National News Agency reported that an Israeli warplane destroyed a home in the al-Mahfara neighborhood of Kfar Sir, killing four people and injuring two others. In another incident, a drone attack targeted a vehicle parked near a municipality building, killing one person and injuring a municipal council member.

Additionally, an Israeli drone struck a motorcycle in the Froun municipality, killing one person. The army also used incendiary phosphorus bombs against farmers harvesting watermelons in the Tyre district, but no injuries were reported.

Israeli forces have set up a checkpoint at the Mari-Halta junction, detaining three Lebanese nationals and confiscating their phones. The Israeli military has issued a forced displacement threat to residents of 12 towns and villages across southern Lebanon.

The situation remains dire, with many people seeking shelter in Tyre due to relentless daily air attacks. According to Al Jazeera correspondent Zeina Khodr, the conflict is escalating and expanding its scope.
