Barcelona Secures 4-1 Win Over Villarreal in La Liga
Barcelona moved four points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the standings with a 4-1 victory over Villarreal on Saturday. The match saw Lamine Yamal score his first hat-trick in career, as well as Robert Lewandowski’s late goal.
Yamal opened the scoring in the 28th minute after Fermin Lopez’s pass allowed him to slot the ball past Pape Gueye and into the left post. He doubled the lead nine minutes later with a solo effort, controlling a long ball on the right wing before curling an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
Gueye pulled one back from close range in the 49th minute, but Villarreal missed opportunities to equalize. Yamal completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute with another counterattack, and Lewandowski added a fourth goal in added time by tapping in Jules Kounde’s low cross.
The win brings Barcelona to 64 points, while second-placed Real Madrid are on 60 points ahead of their match against Getafe on Monday. Villarreal remain third with 51 points.
