Dillian Fury seeks rematch with Anthony Joshua following comeback victory

Tyson Fury Announces Intent to Face Anthony Joshua After Upcoming Fight Against Makhmudov

Tyson Fury, 37, has confirmed that he intends to face Anthony Joshua, 36, in a highly anticipated matchup if he emerges victorious against Canada-based Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday. Fury, who is set to return to the ring at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, expressed his desire to compete against Joshua next.

Fury stated that he has Makhmudov to consider for his upcoming fight, but if successful, he plans to face Joshua immediately after. Joshua’s recent bout against Jake Paul ended with a sixth-round knockout victory, and Fury acknowledged the American’s recent performance without expressing any opinion on the matter.

Joshua was also recently involved in a car accident in Nigeria that resulted in the deaths of two close friends. American former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder has called out Joshua for a long-awaited matchup after beating Briton Derek Chisora on a split-decision last weekend.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has advised Joshua to take time to heal before considering another fight. Fury, who has not fought since losing to Ukraine’s reigning world champion Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024, expressed his skepticism about the potential matchup between Wilder and Joshua, stating that he found their recent bout to be unimpressive.

Fury is set to face Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
