US President Donald Trump Announces Partnership with FIFA for Gaza Reconstruction Efforts
A partnership agreement has been signed between FIFA, the governing body of international football, and the Board of Peace, a US-based organization established by President Trump. The collaboration aims to attract investment from global leaders and institutions to support sustainable development in conflict-affected regions through football.
The Board of Peace held its first meeting focused on Gaza’s reconstruction fund, which is aimed at rebuilding the territory once Hamas disarms. The agreement includes plans to build 50 mini-pitches near schools and residential areas, five full-size pitches across multiple districts, a state-of-the-art FIFA academy, and a new national stadium.
According to Trump, FIFA will raise $75m for football-related projects in Gaza. The partnership plan emphasizes job creation, youth participation, organized leagues for boys and girls, community engagement, and the stimulation of local commercial activities.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that the partnership agreement is designed to deliver impact at every stage. The program’s goals include fostering investment in post-conflict areas through football.
