Four killed in Gaza amid reported ceasefire violations by Israel

Israeli Forces Continue Advancing in Western Gaza

Israeli forces have continued their expansion into the western Gaza Strip, further increasing the area under their control. According to medical officials and local health sources, at least four Palestinians have been killed in recent days, with one person reportedly killed in an air attack near al-Mughraq, two others killed by gunfire and shelling near Gaza City, and a 40-year-old woman shot dead by Israeli forces in Khan Younis.

The Israeli military has claimed to have killed several Hamas fighters in the area since Friday, but no evidence has been provided to support these claims. Reports from Al Jazeera indicate that three Palestinians were shot by a quadcopter drone near the al-Kuwait roundabout and close to the Netzarim Corridor. The Israeli forces are also expanding their “Yellow Line”, which partitions Palestinian territory into separate zones.

The area under Israeli control now covers approximately 60% of the Gaza Strip, with Palestinians largely confined to the remaining western areas. Humanitarian concerns remain high, with shortages of food and medicine persisting due to Israel’s blockade on aid entering the Strip. Al Jazeera reports that normal medications are not available, making it difficult for people suffering from cancer or diabetes to secure treatment.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 800 Palestinians have been killed since the “ceasefire” took effect in October. The Gaza health authorities report that over 72,500 Palestinians have been killed since Israel’s military operation began in October 2023, with most being civilians.
