Iran-orchestrated attacks spark fires in Kuwait and Bahrain, killing one in UAE

A drone attack on Kuwait’s international airport has resulted in a large fire, according to officials. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Kuwait reported that drones from Iran and affiliated factions targeted fuel tanks at the airport, causing significant damage and a blaze.

Emergency teams were dispatched to the scene, where they found no human injuries but material damage. In Bahrain, civil defence crews responded to a fire at an undisclosed company facility, reportedly caused by Iranian aggression.

A tanker was also hit by an unknown projectile near Doha, Qatar, resulting in damage to its hull. The crew of 21 people on board were safely evacuated. Iran has claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it targeted US assets in the region.

In the United Arab Emirates, shrapnel from a drone interception fell on a farm in Fujairah city, killing a Bangladeshi national. Authorities are dealing with the incident.

The attacks have been ongoing for five weeks, with tensions between Iran and its adversaries escalating. The United Nations Development Programme has estimated that the conflict could lead to a decline in GDP in the Arab world by 3.7-6 percent.

US President Donald Trump has made conflicting statements about the duration of the war, stating that the US may leave within two weeks or longer. Iran has rejected a proposed ceasefire framework, demanding compensation for damages caused by US-Israeli attacks against the country.
