Israels upcoming election may mark the end of Netanyahus political tenure

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing significant pressure ahead of the upcoming general election, slated for October. The elections will likely determine his legacy as prime minister, who has been in office for nearly four decades.

Netanyahu’s handling of wars in the region and corruption charges are under scrutiny. Former Israeli army chief Gadi Eisenkot has criticized Netanyahu for not articulating his country’s strategy in Lebanon, which he believes led to a security reality that must be addressed.
